Dental Deep Cleaning

Scaling and root planing, also referred to as a dental deep cleaning procedure, is a great way to reverse gum disease and get your smile back to a healthy condition, especially with our holistic dentistry approach. Though some people may feel nervous about a dental deep clean, we will make sure that you are comfortable during your deep cleaning procedure.

Laser Gum Disease Treatment

Lasers are an incredible tool for treating gum disease. Unlike surgery, dental lasers are precise and minimally invasive. There’s hardly any bleeding, and recovery times are measured in days, not weeks.

Laser treatments for gum disease:

  • Specifically target diseased gum tissue
  • Promote improved blood flow and growth of healthy gum tissue
  • Are fast, require minimal anesthetic, and you’ll see results in just one treatment

Perio Protect®

The earlier we detect infection, the easier it is to treat. Perio Protect® is a completely non-invasive and painless gum disease treatment.

Best of all? Perio Protect® is an at-home treatment and it even whitens your teeth!

We’ll use 3D imaging technology to create a tray that is custom fit for your mouth. Each day, you’ll fill the trays with a hydrogen peroxide gel and leave them in your mouth for about an hour. Within a few weeks, your teeth will be whiter and your gums will be healthier! With healthier gums we can help you focus on whole body health as a holistic dentistry provider.

Pinhole Gum Surgery

When the infection spreads above the gumline it can cause your gums to shrink, exposing more of your tooth structure. Your teeth might be more sensitive and your gums will bleed more easily.

Gum recession is reversible!

Pinhole gum rejuvenation therapy is a minimally-invasive treatment that requires no scalpel and no stitches! Many patients only need some aspirin or ibuprofen after the treatment and the results are immediate.

Gum Disease FAQ

Bacteria infect and cause inflammation in gum tissue. Many of our patients are surprised to learn they have gum problems despite brushing and flossing regularly. While it may be caused by poor brushing habits, this is not always the case. The natural pH and bacterial flora in your mouth, as well as your genetics can cause you to get gum disease no matter how well you brush and floss.

If you receive frequent dental exams, it’s possible to prevent periodontal disease entirely or identify (and cure) it before any symptoms are present. Keep an eye out for these symptoms:

  • Red and swollen gums
  • Tender or bleeding gums
  • Dry mouth
  • Sensitive teeth
  • Chronic bad breath

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, speak with your dentist right away!

Gum disease is not only painful, but it can lead to serious health problems if left untreated. Diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic health problems can be caused or worsened by poor oral health, including untreated gum disease.
