Dental Tips for Parents (Video)
Hi, this is Dr. Nammy, and today I wanted to give some tips for my parents who have little children. Let me give you some tips on what to do with them.
So the first thing I want to start off is by making brushing super fun. Let’s grab an electric toothbrush. Let’s grab a video. And we’re brushing for three minutes. Let’s do it together so we can have a great time, and let’s do it early so that maybe right after dinner, instead of not waiting until you’re ready to go to bed, but doing it right after dinner so that it’s complete. That’s what we really want to do for you, and making sure that you are making it fun and enjoyable.
Now, the second thing is using a toothpaste with hydroxyapatite. It’s an alternative to fluoride. It helps re-mineralize the teeth. So I would highly recommend that. And that also is great because if the children swallow it’s not a big deal because it doesn’t have any fluoride. So those are some things that I would recommend for parents.
Now, third thing is watch your child when they’re sleeping to make sure they’re not mouth breathing. You want them breathing through the nose, and that’s what we really want to make sure. Okay? Now try some of these tips and see how it goes and call upon us if you need anything.
