What Stress Does To Your Body (Video)
Hi, friends. Today I want to speak to you about what stress does to your body. Now, stress is not good, and unfortunately though, as we get older, we have a lot of things to deal with, and that increases the amount of stress we have.
A couple of things that happen, and I’ve seen with patients, is that when we’re stressed out, the first thing that happens is that the oral hygiene goes out the window. So we’re not brushing our teeth as much as we need to. We’re actually making poor food choices. That’s going to be very problematic. So eating carbs and fats or a lot of coffee, all of those things are not very good. Frequent snacking. We’re just munching all day, having the munchies because we’re unconsciously processing our stress.
So, very important that if you’re going through a lot of stress, making sure you floss first and brush your teeth feel really good, honestly, because you’re going to feel like a win and it’ll help break the stress cycle, is what I usually recommend.
And then, secondly, make some healthy choices. So instead of coffee, have some tea instead because you have something you’re sipping on, but you’re going to have tea that’s going to be much more helpful for you. Even if you did chamomile or even peppermint, it’s going to help you think better and also process your problem a lot faster. So I would recommend peppermint tea. That would be really awesome for you to utilize.
Also, your food choices. So instead of reaching for the pizza or a bag of chips, try an apple. It’s so much better. It’s tastier. You’ll feel much better about yourself.
And then, also, the reasons I recommend these things is that you are going to, instead of adding more things to your stress level, because when we eat poorly or don’t do the things that we need to, we feel worse about ourselves. So when you are actually breaking that cycle and doing things that are good for you, it’s actually going to help alleviate that stress and make you feel good about yourself. And that puts you in a positive mindset, which increases your capacity to handle stress, do more things, and get things done quicker for you. Okay? So try those things out and see what you think.
