Breathing, Your Oral Health, and Stress (Video)
Friend, today I want to talk to you about breathing and your oral health, and also your stress, okay? So a couple things that are very important is breathwork, and now breathwork and yoga are really great in minimizing stress. Breathwork is really key because I really want you breathing through your nose all the time. Breathing through your nose creates nitric oxide, which helps cancer, heart attack, diabetes, and all sorts of bad stuff. So you always want your nose breathing.
Now the second thing I want to do is I want to increase the amount of nitric oxide you have, and the best way to do that is actually with breath holds. So my favorite type of breathing exercise that I like to do is breathe in for four seconds. Hold for four seconds. Exhale for four seconds. Hold for four seconds. Inhale for four seconds and hold for four seconds.
Now those holds are really key because what the hold is doing is taking that oxygen, converting to nitric oxide and it gets dispersed throughout the body. It also quiets your mind. It also helps your body relax and decrease that cortisol level, so that is my favorite type of breathing exercise to do along with yoga and for breath and wellness, and also for your mouth. Keeping that mouth closed really makes a big difference so that way you don’t have a dry mouth, which creates a lot of bad bacterium. So I would highly recommend that you try the Box Breathing techniques. That’s what it’s called. Inhale for four. Hold for four. Exhale for four. Hold for four and inhale for four. And it’s like a box. That’s the reason why we would call it the Box Method.
