Green Dentistry Gives Back – Learn More About Our Efforts to Help Others
At Green Dentistry, we want to help everyone live a long and healthy life. Dr. Patel has a focus on the global community and helps make as much of a difference as she can on a daily basis. One of the ways she does this is through her dental practice. Green Dentistry is a very eco-conscious business and believes in using sustainable products. Dr. Patel has taken her beliefs and thought process on caring for oral health and brought it to India.
Non-Profit in India
Dr. Patel is from India and wanted to start a non-profit to give back to the underserved of the community. Unfortunately, not everyone in India thinks about their teeth, and they don’t understand the value teeth have in overall health. If there is a problem with a tooth, the mentality is to just pull the tooth instead of treating the problem. Dr. Patel partners with the American India Foundation as a way to serve as many people as possible.
The organization works with moms first to teach them about prenatal care and stress the importance of taking prenatal vitamins so the teeth of the fetus develop properly and can become healthy. Education is provided to help moms understand the risk of babies and children developing decay from bottle use. The organization goes into the schools and teaches children proper preventative oral hygiene instructions. Children can then take the information they learn and help spread it to their family unit. We want to give the knowledge to help impact a person’s entire life.
Dr. Patel has created a mobile service that provides people in different villages various eco-friendly tools to help them properly clean their teeth and learn about oral hygiene. She teaches them how to properly hold a toothbrush and how to properly clean their teeth and gums. She also provides cleanings and treatment for decay.
