How to Pick Your Toothpaste (Video)
Hi, friends. Today I want to speak to you about how to pick your toothpaste. Now, what is it that you want to do to be holistic and find the best toothpaste for you?
So number one, you want to get a toothpaste that does not have fluoride. You want to grab a toothpaste that has hydroxyapatite. Hydroxyapatite is a combination of a couple of materials that actually make up your natural tooth structure. Now, hydroxyapatite is actually what your teeth are made of, and we really like that because it has calcium crystals in it, potassium crystals in it. All of those things are really great in making a hard surface for the teeth. We really like that because what that does is that it helps re-mineralize your teeth and prevent cavities. So that is the number one ingredient we are looking at.
Now, the second ingredient we’re looking for is xylitol. The reason why we like xylitol is because xylitol actually helps with dry mouth. It makes your toothpaste taste good too, which is always helpful. But xylitol actually is a five carbon sugar versus a six carbon sugar. So what that means is that your body is able to… Well, the bacteria in your mouth are not able to use the xylitol and it also helps hydrate the mouth and it works much better for you.
So I invite you to look for those two ingredients when you go to pick a toothpaste.
