Which Teeth Whitening Products Should I Use?
Would you love to brighten and whiten your smile but the number of options seem overwhelming? If you have been considering whitening your teeth, I know how confusing it can be to make a decision. It seems like everywhere you turn there is another whitening product available. I recently contributed to an article and named my top recommendations for whitening products. Continue reading to learn more about my recommendations and the link to the article.
Why Choose Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening is one of the fastest ways to improve your smile. Many patients comment that a brighter smile gives them a more youthful appearance. When patients visit the office and say they are interested in teeth whitening, I have a few options available to them:
Routine Cleaning – Many patients are surprised when I tell them that a regular hygiene examination and cleaning will help whiten their smile. Removing harmful bacteria and polishing the teeth can help remove minor stains such as discoloration from coffee.
- Natural Products – I also believe in using more natural products to help prevent tooth sensitivity. I have created a paste using activated charcoal, coconut oil and essential oils. The paste is used to polish the teeth, leaving a brighter smile in about 15 minutes.
- Professional Strength Products – I offer more extensive treatments such as in-office whitening, take-home whitening trays, as well as whitening pens.
Over-the-Counter Options
While my first recommendation would not be an over-the-counter product, I know they are so readily available that some of my patients will choose one of these options before visiting the office. I recently contributed to an article where I listed my recommendations for over-the-counter products. Other professionals also listed their preferred choices, but mine included:
- Auraglow Complete LED Whitening Kit
- Lumineux Whitening Kit
- Popwhite Purple Power Duo

It is important to note that one of my concerns with over-the-counter whitening products is they are not being monitored by my office, so if the strength is too intense for your teeth, it can cause considerable damage and leave you with side effects such as sensitivity issues.
