Dr. Nammy talks about your mouth, it’s relation to your gut, and why oral health is an important part of your overall health.
The mouth is super important because it is the beginning of your gut. What I always say, it’s the other end, and mainly because everything that you eat and swallow goes into your belly, so there’s a direct access to the entire gut system. And also a lot of issues that are in the gut, you can see in the mouth as well and also it’s our immune response. So really making sure that the mouth is super clean will ensure that there’s not a lot of microbes in the gut. And so for example, for patients with celiac disease or anything like that, we really want to make sure that they’re making sure they’re going to be keeping their mouth clean.
