Dr Nammy: Nasal breathing is really important for your overall health because when you breathe through your nose, you’re activating nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is necessary to be able to activate all your hormones, to activate your immune system to work properly. And the one thing I can say is that we need our immune system to be working optimally, especially as we age. Especially as there’s pollutants in the air and the food we eat, we need our immune system to be agile. It’s like our own army that we actually use every single day or our own little vacuum cleaner that gets rid of the bad stuff. We want to make sure that our immune system is working optimally and keeping us healthy.
